About Your Tour Boston

JUST A FEW FUN FACTS....  Your Tour Boston LLC, a member of the Greater Boston Convention and Visitors Bureau, is wholly owned by Mary Margaret Griffin.  Let me introduce myself.

I grew up in Holyoke, Massachusetts. Boston has been my hometown ever since I came here for college and grad school.  I hold a BA from Regis College and an MAT from the Harvard School of Education. I married a local guy and we rented our first apartment on the top of Beacon Hill....for $90 a month.

We raised our family here... 2 sons, 1 daughter and 2 collie dogs.  Now, we love having the gang back for fun family times... that's the original 3, plus our wonderful in-laws, 3 grandsons, 1 granddaughter, and 3 dogs.

Since 2008, I have enjoyed showing off Boston to many visitors as a Boston Tour Guide. I work for several tour companies as well as volunteer for two groups that are close to my heart- the Boston Public Library, and Boston By Foot. I am a member of the Greater Boston Tour Guides, and am on faculty for the Brookline Adult and Community Education program. I am a licensed tour guide for the town of Concord, MA.

Our typical Custom Tours last about 2 hours and cost $150 for groups up to 10 people. We are happy to arrange tours for larger groups and longer times, including school groups and over-the-road groups.  Dogs are welcome on our custom tours. Please get in touch to arrange the details for your custom tour - we'd love to show you around.

Have a great time on your visit here.

Cheers!

-Mary Margaret Griffin

Why Your Tour Boston

HERE'S WHAT SOME FOLKS HAVE SAID....

"Greatest combination... knowledgeable, fun and flexible! That describes Mary Margaret Griffin and the day that my 12 year old grandson and I spent with her. Touring Lexington and Concord in the morning and seeing the sites of Boston in the afternoon., what fun! It was a fact filled and enjoyable day. We highly recommend Your Tour Boston." -- Rachel Stevens (North Carolina) and Henry Stevens (Virginia)

"Mary Margaret took a small group of us to tour the British march/retreat to Lexington and Concord. After hearing about these battles for 70 years, she finally had me understanding what had happened. She also squired us around the delightful town of Concord, including arranging a fascinating special tour by the curator of Thoreau's house." -- Cindy & Westbrook Murphy (Maryland)

"One of the highlights each year of our attendees at our annual summer conference is the Boston Harbor Cruise. Mary Margaret had done a great job for us as our tour guide. She is knowledgeable, enthusiastic and easy to work with." - Larry Furey, Partners in Mission (Westwood, MA)

"Matignon High School, in Cambridge, Massachusetts, participates each year in student exchange programs to France and Spain. When our exchange students arrive in Boston, their first activity is a tour of Harvard University with Mary Margaret Griffin. Mary Margaret has also led our visitors on tours of Old Boston and the Freedom Trail. Our foreign exchange teacher colleagues give high praise to Mrs. Griffin for her informative tours and her high level of energy and enthusiasm for all that is Boston. More importantly, they are most appreciative of her efforts to accomodate each group individually. She is sensitive to the age of our exchange participants and the fact that English is not their native language. She gauges the comprehension of each group and tailors her tour to suit their needs. Mary Margaret Griffin earns kudos each year from both sides of the Atlantic. We all gratefully applaud her efforts." -- Paula Gaffey (Cambridge, MA)
